Best Online Education Degree Programs
Which Online University has the best M.S. in Education?

There are so many online colleges offering an M.S. in Education! Are there any with very good reputations? Do you or someone you know have a degree from one of the online schools? If you work in a school, would you hire a teacher with an M.S. from an online college?

I have an MBA and 20 years’ work experience. I want to teach as my next career. Since I already have an MBA, I am hoping there will be some reasonably short/efficient online program. $ is also a consideration.

Thanks for your help.

My best recommendation would be to contact a number of colleges to find the best fit for you and your needs (tuition, schedule, career opportunities, etc.). Without knowing more about you it’s difficult to say which one would be the best for you.
This site has some good info on regionally accredited online M.S. in education programs and some colleges that offer them to help expand your search:

Usability Evaluation of Online Learning Programs

Usability Evaluation of Online Learning Programs

Successful use of information and communication technologies depends on usable designs that do not require expensive training, accommodate the needs of diverse users and are low cost. There is a growing demand and increasing pressure for adopting innovative approaches to the design and delivery of education, hence, the use of online learning (also called Elearning) as a mode of study. This is partly due to the increasing number of learners and the limited resources available to meet a wide range of various needs, backgrounds, expectations, skills, levels, ages, abilities and disabilities. The advances of new technology and communications (WWW, Human Computer Interaction and Multimedia) have made it possible to reach out to a bigger audience around the globe. By focusing on the issues that have impact on the usability of online learning programs and their implementation, Usability Evaluation of Online Learning Programs specifically fillsin a gap in this area, which is particularly invaluable to practitioners. Library Programs Online by Peters, Thomas A. Edition , 1

Library Programs Online by Peters, Thomas A. Edition , 1

$42.49

Meet your library patrons where they increasingly live and work-online. This guide introduces you to the exciting possibilities online programs offer, and shows you how to set up online programs in your library-whether one-time stand-alone or half-day, full-day, or multi-day workshops and conferences. Public programs-from lectures, demonstrations, and interviews to book discussions and story hours can be delivered in real time (live) primarily over the web, utilizing a variety of interactive communication tools, including voice-over-IP, text chatting, and co-browsing. Furthermore, online programming can be used for district-wide staff training. The author explains how to integrate pre-recorded components of a program into a live, online public program; shows how to extend the reach and appeal of online public programs with podcasting and audiorecordings; and explains how to use voice-over-IP and video-over-IP to enhance online programs. In addition to outlining the costs of staring and operating a public online program, Peters also provides cost recovery methods and scenarios. Online public programs can extend your library’s reach into the service population, grab the attention of some early adopters and opinion leaders in the community you serve, and convey to patrons and other libraries that your library is moving boldly into the digital future. Plus, many people are more likely to attend an online library program than an in-library public program. And because online programs are easily recorded and redistributed on demand, your library gets more bang for each buck it invests in its public programming outreach. Distance education programs in higher education, corporate and governmental training efforts, and other sectors of society have become commonplace, but this is the first guide to focus on how libraries (public, academic, school, and special) and library-related organizations (associations, consortia, etc.) can and are developing exciting online programs for library users and librarians.

Developing and Sustaining Online Education

The rush to transition education from the traditional facetoface to an online or hybrid environment increases each year. Universities realize online education is crucial to the future survival and expansion of their educational programs. Herein we discuss the infrastructure support that is vital to the foundation of a durable online program. The essentials include faculty training and mentoring, a campus network, secure access, data storage, fast and efficient IT support, and the appropriate type of technology for teaching. A crucial element is administrative support in the form of funding, guidance, oversight, and the removal of obstacles to the development of an online program. Faculty were surveyed to identify: a) perceptions of what elements are important to the development of a successful online program; b) which of those elements were in use at their institution; c) factors that enhance faculty participation in an online program, and the factors which impede their contribution. A Matrix is introduced that administrative decision makers can use to develop an online teaching program or enhance an existing program.
