Spring File Folder
What happened to my Wikipedia files?
I was doing what I call spring cleanup on my pc mostly organizing files and creating folders for them. I searched for Wikipedia and I had a bunch of files, at least 100, dating back over 2 years ago. I didn’t create the Wikipedia folder and wound up doing something else. When I attempted again, I could only find 5 files. I tried the paid version of Search and Recover 4 and still only 5 files. I just downloaded Recuva but haven’t launched it yet. What happened and could it be that I renamed them by accident? Obviously, I didn’t backup my files prior to the spring cleanup.
Wikipedia’s “Usability Initiative” recently launched a pro-active service to all users, where any Wikipedia files that were stored on the user’s PC that had ANY MISTAKES in them would be automatically deleted. This is a feature, not a bug. You don’t seem to appreciate everything the Wikimedia Foundation is doing to help improve the accuracy of Wikipedia for you.
