I need info for going into a doctor career!?

Im a Junior in High School and I want to become an anesthesiologist. I live in Jersey City, NJ. And i want to study in NY.
And i have lots of questions. Other info about this can help me A LOT!

Anesthesiologists are doctors too right? Like MD title? Or no?
Do they need to get a PHD?
How long will i be studying for this?
Is NYU Medical Center a good place to study for this?
How hard is it to become an anesthesiologist?

Other info can help too. Thanks!

An anesthesiologist is indeed a “doctor,” but an M.D., not a PhD. He or she has the same medical training as a family physician, but takes additional training in anesthetics, medially induced comas, and the like. Physicians finish a college degree, usually in a science like chemistry or biology, go through Medical School, then finish an internship, all of which takes many years. A specialist, such as an anesthesiologist, takes more courses, and thus the status takes longer to achieve. How “hard” all of this is depends on how well prepared you are when you start (good grades in junior high and high school?) how interested you are in the field, and how much effort you put in.

But for many, this lifestyle leads to family problems, a decline in work productivity, and ultimately to physical and mental collapse. Chained to the Desk, best-selling author and widely respected family thera…
