PhD in UK or USA?

I have an offer for PhD in Computing Science at Newcastle Upon Tyne University
What do you think about the university, regarding research quality and reputation in UK and worldwide?
Many people advise me to gain my PhD from USA, claiming that I’ll find better job offers since I’m holding a PhD from USA
Does it really make a difference whether I get my PhD from UK or USA??
I haven’t been to any of both countries

The USA is where the world market is and is where the Ph.D’s from around the world come to make their money – which means your training is going to be broader – more interaction with world leaders etc.

But it all depends on what you want to do when you’re done.

My advice? Don’t do it for the money – do whatever because you love it and enjoy doing it!

If the UK appeals to you, by all means go there. If the USA appeals to you, come here! We welcome you! There are niches where a Ph.D. from the UK will have an advantage that an American one will not! So – my thoughts, either would be good, safest would be the U.S. but either are viable and provide wonderful opportunities!
