Phd Overrated
Summer research or corporate internship b4 grad school?
I am a junior, so this coming summer will be my last summer b4 graduation. I have not had a summer research related to my field (computer science) and I will like to enroll in a PhD program after graduation. For this summer, I have two offers:
1. a summer research ($4k) at a university;
2. a company internship ($10k).
Which do u advice me to go for?
Here’s the dilemma: Research experience is important on my resume ; the money difference right now is affecting my decision cos i could do well with that extra $6k.
Is it really worth it? Is prior research experience overrated?
