Psychology Phd Programs Online
PhD in Organizational/Industrial Psychology?
I am currently a Graduate Student close to graduating with a Masters in Human Resource Management. I am looking for Schools that offer PhD programs in Organizational or Industrial Psychology in Central Texas. UT, Baylor, and SFU, don’t offer the program and Rice turned me down. (Despite my 4.0.) There is no way I would ever consider A&M, even though they do offer the program.
Does anybody know a selective university that offers this program?
I have seen a few online programs, but those programs tend to be not as well respected.
*Other than Rice University and Texas A&M University, I am aware of only two other institutions of higher education IN TEXAS that offer a Ph.D. program in Organizational– Industrial Psychology. I do not regard either alternative to be “selective,” but each has the requisite accreditation:
University of Houston – Please see:
http://www.siop.org/gtp/gtpDisplay.asp?program=60
University of North Texas – Please see:
http://www.siop.org/gtp/gtpDisplay.asp?program=9
*There are a variety of superb I-O graduate programs at highly selective institutions of higher education. I shall not attempt to list them here; however, I recommend that you use the resources of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Inc.
The home page is http://www.siop.org/default.aspx
That organization provides several services, one of which is a search engine at which you may discover where Graduate Training Programs in Industrial-Organizational Psychology are found. The site does not ignore “rankings.” Please see:
http://www.siop.org/GTP/
[*Well, perhaps I can provide a "short-list" of institutions that come to mind: University of Maryland at College Park, Michigan State University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, The Ohio State University, Stanford University, University of Ilinois at Urbana-Champaign.]
Good Luck!
