What is the most popular size in self-storage?

I am looking at buying into a self-storage business and I am curious what the most popular size is. Thanks

If you are talking unit size, usually the 10 x 10 and the 10 x 15 are your best choices. They can hold about two to three rooms worth of furniture, so for people who are moving or downsizing, they are very popular. The 5 x 5 and 5 x 10 can also be fairly popular, since they are more for holding items than furniture. I would go with a range fo 5 x 5 through at least a 10 x 15, although some places go up to a 10 x 20 and have some RV/car storage too.

You don’t want to go with just one size of unit, because that will turn a lot of people away, who either want a smaller or larger unit. Get to know the clients and if you expand, you go with the sizes that you are frequently out of.
